ABOUT US

Supporting and leading all teachers in building inclusive practices, learning environments, and communities.

The Council for Inclusive Education provides educators with increased knowledge and understanding of students with diverse needs through professional development, communication, and policy.

The objectives of the CIE are:

  1. To improve practice in the specialty by increasing members' knowledge and understanding of inclusive education.​​

  2. To foster the professional development of members through membership activities and services.

  3. To provide advise and expertise to the Alberta Teachers' Association on learning and working conditions, curriculum, and teacher practice as related to inclusive education.

  4. To act through the Association as an advocate for the advancement and promotion of inclusive education.
